Deborah Cook:

For 25 years, Deb has been based in Maine working with organizations and initiatives to increase social and economic opportunity across the state. Cook Consulting supports public policy initiatives that build vibrant, healthy and sustainable communities. Deb has worked on issues including education, health, science, technology, environment and small business development with non-profits, government and private sector organizations. An active civic leader, Deb has chaired the boards of GrowSmart Maine and The Institute for Civic Leadership and has also served on the boards of the Maine Small Business Alliance and Maine Businesses for Social Responsiblity. 

Deb has worked on Capitol Hill as staff to Senator Patrick Leahy and Congressman Tom Andrews and served as Maine's Press Secretary and Media Director for both 1992 and 1996 successful Clinton-Gore presidential campaigns. Deb received her MA in Public Policy and Management from the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine and her BA from Colby College in American Studies. 

In addition to her organizational consulting, Deb leads yoga and meditation retreats to help individuals build creative space and reflection into their busy lives. Deb lives in Maine's midcoast region and maintains an office in Portland's Arts District.
